Realtor Derek Worchel
Hello, let me introduce myself. I’m Derek Worchel and the Whatcom property market is my passion.
I began my professional career at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of Chapel Hill ranked 7th in the nation.
After graduating with honors, I then went to work building custom homes. I was then hired as an Assistant Real Estate Manager at PM Realty Group.
After 7 months, I was running an entire portfolio of properties. My role was assessing the financial health and operational stability of the investment portfolio.
Soon thereafter, I gained employment with Fortune 500 company CB Richard Ellis with a new role as Real Estate Manager. I took on more responsibility performing financial analysis, leasing functions, project management, supervising accountants, working with tenants/landlords alike, and re-positioning properties.
My Own General Contracting Company
From this role, I went on to form my own General Contracting Company called ASPM, (aspmwa.com). I went to Home Inspection School to gain a license in Home Inspection. Transferring my commercial skill and easily picking up residential sales, I began providing all these services in my skill set. After 7 great years, of contracting I decided to focus primarily on Real Estate. I turned the business over to my partner and went on to grow my Real Estate business.
As A Realtor
As a Realtor, I offer a broad wealth of knowledge including commercial and residential services. I provide tenant and landlord representation. I have helped numerous clients with multifamily properties. I have been a landlord for numerous years, and know the ups and downs of taking care of tenants. On the residential side, I am happy to offer free consultations on how to improve the price of a property and what you can expect going forward. Below are a few core values I believe in.
Honesty is the core value of who I am as a person. It shows through in my professional life. I feel the best solution is to be honest, and the best solution will arise. Sometimes the facts aren’t always rosy, but I never hesitate to tell the truth and ask for honest feedback.
To me, integrity means doing the right thing for the client. It’s about educating the client to make their own decisions without trying to sway them into ‘just making the sale’. I want my client to make the right decision for themselves with my aid.
Being professional comes with years of practice. I am 10 years deep into my profession in Real Estates. Professionalism means being the best at what you do and having the results to prove it. I am adamant that my client knows that I have their best interests at heart, and I have the capability to meet their needs.
I am constantly educating myself to be better at what I do. I take extra courses ranging from home inspection to appraisal, to updated laws, so when a client comes to me, I can be the best resource for them.
I function as a part of a whole. This is how I view relationships, as everyone doing their part to make a larger process evolve. Through my numerous relationships in both my professional and personal life, I make a point to have the relationship be both enjoyable and productive.
